    Bank Robbery

July 8th, 2008 posted by Alex

Soon, and very soon, the interweb nation will be introduced to a new web series–a web series that I am in fact producing. The series, currently untitled, is a comedy that follows a group of twentysomethings that get fed up with their Los Angeles lives and decide to rob a bank. We are in the funding stage of pre-production right now, and hope to begin production sometime this September.

    True Love Sucks

July 8th, 2008 posted by Alex

I have been asked to produce and direct a feature film titled True Love Sucks, written by the lovely Mary Kate Wiles. It’s going to be a trip for sure. Right now we are looking to get an organization involved called To Write Love On Her Arms, which deals with depression, drug use, and suicide among youths. We are trying for a funding model of fiscal sponsorship through this organization which will make all donations to the film tax deductible while also providing TWLOHA with financial support. It’s a win-win for us all. The film itself is a Romeo and Juliet adaptation set in the emo and indie music scenes, and deals with issues of prejudice, depression, and suicide…and we are hoping it will influence people that are dealing with these issues in a positive way. We are also trying to put together a pretty unbelievable soundtrack with popular indie and emo bands for this film. We have already had 4 bands express interest, so we are on the right track! Right now we are in early pre-production stages, and we plan to begin production in July of 09. Stay tuned folks…
